SACRED GEOMETRY WORKSHOP at CoSM

John Lloyd and Karl Lorenzen will lead an exploration of the creative, and symbolic
aspects of geometry, where art, spirituality, and science meet. Through
viewing examples of sacred geometry from many cultures, stimulating
discussions of the beautiful and the holy, and hands-on drawing
exercises designed for all levels of artistic experience, spiritual
metaphors will emerge expressed in the patterns of nature.
Participants should each bring a compass, a straight edge, and colored
pencils or magic markers. Some materials will be available on site. John Lloyd has studied the subject for over two decades in London,
Paris and throughout the U.S.
John assisted in the creation of the doors of CoSM, depicting the
divine proportions of Adam and Eve.

MicroCoSM proudly presents an exhibition uniting the artwork of two American counter-culture legends, Jerry Garcia and Wavy Gravy. Jerry Garcia, best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the legendary rock band "The Grateful Dead," was also a visual artist who made paintings, drawings, and prints throughout his life. Wavy Gravy, humorist and voice of the Woodstock Festival, creates collages inspired by the numerous geniuses he has befriended from the beat and psychedelic eras, such as Bob Dylan, Lenny Bruce, and poet Allen Ginsberg. Ben & Jerry's will sponsor free Cherry Garcia & Wavy Gravy flavored ice cream at the opening.
