| I envisioned the CD and booklet as a map of our various layers of being. As I was sketching, the saw blade design emerged. The saw blade represents the primordial spirit of emptiness and awareness, our ground of being. The next layer was a vajra, emitting energy, the subtle essence of soul around which the physical body coagulates. The next several layers detail the physical anatomy of skeleton, muscles, viscera, nervous and cardio-vascular systems. Weaving through the physical layers are symbols of psycho-spiritual subtle life energies, such as a star in the throat and a funnel of light pouring into the cranium. The eye-flame was placed at various psychic centers, the palm of the hand, the heart, throat, and third eye. "Prying open my third eye" (as Maynard screams) allows access to inter-dimensional seeing, making the spirit worlds apparent through the lens of our imagination. |
