The Story of CoSM
Our Mission
CoSM’s mission is to build an enduring sanctuary of visionary art that uplifts the global community and inspires every pilgrim’s creative path.
Foundation for the Chapel of Sacred Mirrors is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, formed in 1996 to create a permanent public exhibition of the Sacred Mirrors—a series of transformative paintings by Alex Grey that map the anatomy of body, mind, and spirit.
Church of Sacred Mirrors, CoSM, established in 2008, is an interfaith church. Together, the Foundation and Church steward a sanctuary where contemplation, creativity, and community meet.
CoSM is a place of contemplation for community honoring the practice of art as a spiritual path. Our site and structures provide a living model of the ideals expressed through the collection, exhibitions, and the writings of founders Alex Grey and Allyson Grey—co-founders and Ministers of CoSM—and invited contributors.

About Entheon
Entheon is CoSM’s chapel of visionary art—a sanctuary built to house the Sacred Mirrors and related works in a permanent, public setting. Guests walk among paintings that illuminate body, mind, and spirit, then continue outdoors along the Wisdom Trail and into Grey House gathering spaces.
Located on wooded grounds in the Hudson Valley, Entheon is open for day visits and hosts exhibitions, ceremonies, and educational programs throughout the year. First Fridays offer free admission opportunities for the community.
