Flower Power: Exploring Flowers and Flower Hybrids

ABOUT THE PROGRAM: 

Do you love flowers and want to weave them into your flow? Already familiar with floral patterns but looking to level up your technique? Ever wondered what happens when one poi decides to break the rules?

Join Silas Morrill for a dynamic poi workshop focused on the art of flowers and hybrids! We'll explore a variety of flower patterns—especially 3- and 4-petal variations—in all directions. Learn how to incorporate hand, arm, and foot placement within the flow grid, and dive into creative hybrids using extensions, isolations, and pivots.

This is an intermediate-level workshop, but curious beginners are welcome to attend, absorb, and blossom.

Silas Morrill, aka FireGuySi, is a dynamic fire and flow artist known for electrifying performances that blend danger, rhythm, and artistry. Driven by a passion for pyro and a flair for the theatrical, he brings heat, heart, and unforgettable energy to every show.

Class sessions will take outside, weather permitting by the Grey House, CoSM’s Visionary Victorian

WORKSHOP AMENITIES

Limited supplies will be available - guests are encouraged to bring their own!

Tuition also includes Day Admission to CoSM: Saturday June 21st, 12pm - 5:00pm—before the Summer Solstice begins.

• Access to Facilities, grounds and self-touring Entheon
  
• Students are welcome to experience Entheon and Grey House Galleries, including both CoSM Shop & Entheon Shop. 
  
• The Mushroom Cafe is an additional gallery, an immersively muraled space with mushroom themed contributions from 19 accomplished visionary artists
  
• The Wisdom Trail offers a contemplative walk through the CoSM woods, including a labyrinth, outdoor sculptural installations by visionary artists

DAYTIME:

• 3:00 PM: Registration opens in the Grey House
  
• 4:00PM: Class begins outside
  
• 5:00PM: Class ends
  

Summer Solstice Celestial Celebration (tickets sold separately - add at checkout!)

Celestial Ceremony

• 6:45 PM: The Great Hall, Entheon opens for Priority Admission ticket holders. Be in your seat by 7:00 pm.
  
• 7:15 PM: 2nd & 3rd floors open for General Admission ticket holders. Enjoy flexibility in our remote viewing areas. (Please note: Seating in The Great Hall is not guaranteed. Any available seats after 7:00 PM are first-come, first-served.)
  
• 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM: Full Moon Ceremony led by Alex Grey & Allyson Grey
  

Celestial After-Hours

• 8:30 PM - 12:15 AM: music by Poranguí & Erothyme, live painting, interactive art + more. Food and beverages available in the Grey House Moon Lounge & Mushroom Cafe
  
• 11:00 PM: Entheon closes. Grey House open until end of event
  

1:00 AM: End of Event

Getting To CoSM:

CoSM is 65 miles north of New York City and accessible by Metro North Train leaving hourly from Grand Central Station.

Things to Note:

• No pets of any kind are allowed on CoSM property.
  
• No food or open liquids are allowed inside Entheon.
  
• Coat & bag closet available for ALL backpacks & large bags in Entheon.
