ABOUT THE PROGRAM:

This workshop will address the broad spectrum of knowledge concerning the practice of an artist, including sketching, drawing, composition, materials, technique, personal style development, lifestyle and business management.

Style and uniqueness are important elements, essential in the journey of any committed artist. The objective of this workshop will be to find a personal artistic voice that can be carried through future works, allowing each participant to be recognizably identified through their artwork. Chris calls this journey "finding your artistic voice and pulling on a thread.. to manifest your personal magic, reflected in your art piece."

Chris intends this art workshop to be "a shamanic spiritual experience" where every participant will explore how to better express invisible heart-felt inner perspectives. To advance mastery, technical improvement will also be pursued in the workshop, although the aim will be to seek an authentic vision from our exclusive mystic inner world!

After the 3-day Soul Stylistics workshop concludes on Saturday, you are welcome to stay on for Visionary Graffiti on Sunday, where Chris will teach a bit about the history of this modern art movement, materials and techniques, and then give a spray paint mural demonstration. Students are welcome touse some of Chris’ scrap cans to feel out this tricky medium. As students are shown the steps in the process, confidence will be fostered in learning how to do it yourself down the line.

In all honesty, it's impossible to teach somebody how to be an epic artist in only 3 days. That is something that the student has to develop over years of dedication.

However, Chris feels passionate about stoking the fire of each student to dive deeper into their path as an artist.

Chris Dyer is a Peruvian-Canadian visual artist now based in Saint Petersburg, Florida.

A lifelong skateboarder since the mid-1980s, his fine art career began by painting on broken skateboards—an experiment that led to creating more than 100 commercial graphics for some of the biggest brands in the skate industry.

Chris’ funky, soulful expressions have always been rooted in his process of spiritual self-realization. These unique visions have made him one of the most recognized artists in the "Visionary Art" movement, with his canvas paintings exhibited in museums and galleries around the world.

For nearly two decades, Chris has also explored the medium of spray paint, producing large-scale murals in iconic locations such as the Bob Marley Museum in Jamaica, the Beatles Ashram in India, the Balata Refugee Camp in Palestine, a DIY skate park in Havana, and international street art museums in Amsterdam, Peru, and Russia.

Since 2004, he has run his own clothing brand, Positive Creations, which shares his art as wearable medicine. In the digital realm, he sold out an NFT collection of 5,555 pieces, launching the Galaktic Gang—a thriving Web3 community that continues to grow.

Passionate about empowering younger artists, Chris has led workshops around the globe, including at shamanic medicine retreats in Peru, India, and Thailand. His work has been featured in publications such as Thrasher, High Times, and Juxtapoz, and in numerous books, including several of his own.

Beyond painting, Chris also produces creative video offerings such as his travel show and Podcast on YouTube.

Across every medium, his intention is the same: to serve as a spiritual channel of love and good vibes, offering art as medicine for humanity. He walks his path as a servant of the Most High, alive in every human being.

For this workshop, please bring the art materials you use to make your art. All drawing and painting mediums are welcome.

Play, experiment, do something different in introspective exploration. Come as you are and Chris will work with you to explore how your creative practice can be taken to the next level.

Interesting canvases encouraged (found objects like used skateboards, street signs, garbage, sculptural pieces, etc.,) but if you prefer a traditional canvas, all is welcome!

CoSM WORKSHOP SETTING:

Class sessions will take place in the MAGI Art Lab —Mystic Artists Guild International.

The Grey House, CoSM's Visionary Victorian guest house, provides accommodations for all participants. 

Residing onsite together is encouraged as part of this immersively creative weekend, providing maximum benefit & enrichment. Accommodations in Grey House are offered in a variety of economies, in addition to the workshop fee. 

Participants are welcome to extend their overnight stay at CoSM to the Monday after the workshop.
