2026 Vocal Odyssey with Nessi Gomes
ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
Vocal Odyssey is a deep yet playful self-inquiry journey of discovery into the mystery and healing forces of our most intimate musical instrument – our voice.

The process aims to pierce through the voices in our heads and to open a door for a new relationship between us and the transformative quality of our vocal expression. To bring us a bit closer to our beautiful, raw, wild and imperfect human flow.

The voice is our bridge to something bigger than ourselves; it is our connection to the prayer we carry. In this group, we will reconnect to the simple and natural way of expressing our authentic voice beyond judgments, painful beliefs and limiting conditionings.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
Vocal Exploration, Expression & Improvisation
- Use your voice as a gateway for creativity, connection, communication, expression and emotional release.
- Explore tools, gentle exercises, improvisation and rituals that help soften the ego state and liberate the natural voice.
- Engage in intuitive vocal improvisation, allowing spontaneous sound to reveal insight, emotion and creative flow without pressure or performance.
- Cultivate the courage to welcome and express the full spectrum of your voice, the light, the dark, the vulnerable, the wild, all held in a container of love and compassion.

Healing, Trust & Relationship with Your Voice
- Know yourself more deeply and come closer to your heart through an intimate encounter with your unique, often unexpressed voice.
- Experience self-healing through sound, using the vibration of your own voice as a form of vibrational medicine that supports clarity, release and inner light.
- Connect to the innate wisdom of your voice, learning to access the power of your voice as a vehicle for awakening, insight and subtle shifts in consciousness.

Ritual, Ceremony & Collective Resonance
- Step into ritual, ceremony and a sense of threshold, entering a space where the voice becomes a bridge to understanding yourself more deeply and loving yourself more fully.
- Strengthen your capacity to truly listen, to yourself, to others, to silence, while feeling the unity and resonance of the collective singing field.
- Awaken trust, compassion and peace of mind in a safe, supportive environment, surrounded by new friends who share the journey.
- Experience lots of heartfelt fun, playfulness and moments of unexpected joy.

Integration & Ongoing Practice
- Learn simple practices that support a healthy and sustainable daily relationship with your voice, encouraging ongoing exploration after the retreat.
- Gain practical insights into integrating the work into daily life, allowing the retreat to continue rippling long after you leave.

YOUR INSTRUCTOR:
NESSI GOMES

Nessi Gomes is a British–Portuguese singer-songwriter and holistic voice practitioner, internationally recognised for her unique approach to the voice as a gateway to emotional expression, inner alchemy, and human connection. She holds a BA (Hons) in Creative Expressive Therapies (2007) and is a holistic voice practitioner, certified in Holistic Voice Therapy with The British Academy of Sound Therapy (BAST, 2014).
Born on the island of Guernsey to parents from Madeira, Nessi grew up using singing and music as a way to navigate inner landscapes, transform emotion, and connect with the unseen. Her artistic and therapeutic roots naturally merged into what would later become the foundation of Vocal Odyssey.
As the founder and creator of Vocal Odyssey, Nessi has guided thousands of people across the world through retreats, workshops, and online journeys, inviting them into a deeper relationship with their voice. Her work blends vocal exploration, ritual, narrative inquiry, movement, and compassionate witnessing, offering a space where the voice becomes both anchor and portal, a place to meet oneself with honesty, tenderness, and courage.
Her musical career continues to influence and inspire her teaching. With a devoted global audience, Nessi’s songs and performances are known for their emotional depth, honesty, and textured soundscapes. This artistry forms the backbone of the Vocal Odyssey experience, where creativity becomes a path of healing, transformation, and reconnection with one’s authentic self.
Nessi currently leads retreats and gatherings around the world alongside her husband and collaborator, Lino Hermesh, and continues to develop the Vocal Odyssey Method, an evolving body of work rooted in presence, resonance, storytelling, and embodied expression.
