Secret Writing, originated by Allyson Grey in 1972, inspired by an intentional LSD journey in which Secret Writing appeared to the artist as clear evidence of God contact, an untranslatable language of creative expression that is beyond concepts.

Allyson Grey

Allyson Grey is an artist dedicated to painting and social sculpture, art that intends to transform social systems. Her paintings represent a symbol system, an essentialized world-view comprised of chaos, order and secret writing, a body of work that has been exhibited, commissioned and sold internationally. As a social sculptor, Allyson, with her husband, the artist Alex Grey, co-founded CoSM, Chapel of Sacred Mirrors located in the Hudson Valley of New York, a radically welcoming interfaith art church. A leader of a growing community, Allyson has been a speaker at many conferences and symposia including the Women's Visionary Congress in California, the Horizons Conference in New York City and the World Psychedelic Forum in Basil, Switzerland. With a Master of Fine Arts degree from Tufts University, Allyson has edited and co-authored over a dozen books and journals, authored countless interviews & forewords, and been an educator and muse to artists for over 30 years. allysongrey.com
